PEOPLE V. JAMES PHILLIP THOMAS - Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Health and Safety Code section 11377(a), Possession of Methamphetamine as a Registered Sex Offender and violations of probation. Defendant was sentenced to 3 years 4 months prison. This case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from retired Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputy Sheldon. 
 
PEOPLE V. JULIAN ARTURO MARTINEZ - Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 451(b), Arson of Inhabited Dwelling. Defendant was sentenced to 828 days jail and 2 years probation. This case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Orland Police Department Officer Andrade and Sergeant Cessna. 
 
PEOPLE V. JAMES SCOTT BEEGLE - Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 245(a)(4), Assault with Great Bodily Injury Likely and 273.6, Violation of a Domestic Violence Restraining Order. Defendant was sentenced to 1 year and 9 days jail, 52 week Batterer's Treatment classes, and 3 years of probation. This case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Orland Police Department Sergeant Johnson. 
 
PEOPLE V. DVONTRIQUE KESHON DAVIDSON- Defendant was convicted of a misdemeanor violation of Vehicle Code section 23152(b), Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol over .08% BAC with a Prior DUI. Defendant was sentenced to 364 days jail concurrent to his current prison commitment. This case was prosecuted by ADA Neumann with assistance from CHP Willows Officer Vasquez. 
 
PEOPLE V. JOSE ALFREDO MARMOLEJO- Defendant was convicted of a misdemeanor violation of Penal Code section 484/490.2(a), Petty Theft at Pilot, Health and Safety Code sections 11377(a), Possession of Methamphetamine, and 11550(a), Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. Defendant was sentenced to 240 days jail. This case was prosecuted by ADA Neumann with assistance from Orland Police Department Officers Andrade, Martindale, and Sergeant Johnson, Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputies Tuma.

AS HEARD IN COURT APRIL 14, 2017

PEOPLE v. JARED, LISA- Defendant was previously convicted of a felony violation of Health and Safety Code section 11379(a), Transportation of Methamphetamine, and misdemeanor violations of Health and Safety Code section 11550(a), Under the Influence of Narcotics, and Business and Professions Code section 4140, Possession of a Syringe. Defendant was found in violation of probation for the 9th time and probation was terminated. Defendant was sentenced to 3 years in prison. The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Orland Police Department Officers Carmon and Cessna and Glenn County Probation Officer Tompkins.

PEOPLE V. VOLMER, DAVID - Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Vehicle Code section 4463(a)(1), Falsify Evidence of Registration to Defraud. Defendant was sentenced to 124 days jail and 3 years probation. This case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from the Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputy Garcia and Orland Police Department Officer Carmon.

PEOPLE V. MEDINA, ZULEMA- Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Vehicle Code section 10851(a), Vehicle Theft, and a misdemeanor violation of Vehicle Code section 23152(b), DUI with a Prior DUI. Defendant was previously convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 245(a)(1), Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and probation was terminated. Defendant was sentenced to 4 years and 8 months in state prison. The case was prosecuted by DDA Harbarger with assistance from California Highway Patrol Officer Benfer, Glenn County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Owens and Rasmussen, and Orland Police Department Officers Fullmore and Roenspie.

PEOPLE v. FERNANDEZ, DAVES- Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 29800(a)(1), Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Defendant was previously convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 21310, Possession of a Dirk or Dagger, and Health and Safety Code section 11377(a), Possession of Methamphetamine. Defendant was sentenced to 2 years and 8 months in state prison. The case was prosecuted by DDA Harbarger with assistance from Glenn County Probation Officers Moize, Tompkins, and Pfyl, Orland Police Department Sergeant Johnson and Officer Carrillo, CHP Office Ovard, and Glenn County Sheriff’s Office Detective Blair.

Defendant was sentenced to 3 years and 8 months in state prison. The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Gibbs and Orland Police Department Officer Mills.

PEOPLE V. STEVEN DEHOYOS HERNANDEZ SR - Defendant was convicted of felony violations of Penal Code section 368(b)(1), Elder Abuse Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury and 243.9(a), Battery by Gassing and was found in violation of parole in a felony 69, Resist Police Officer by Force or Violence case. Defendant was sentenced to 3 years prison. This case was prosecuted by ADA Neumann with assistance from Glenn County Sherrif's Office Deputies Johnsen, Lourenzo, Sheldon, and Ramos and Parole Agent Brewer.

PEOPLE V. PASSERO, PETER- Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 246.3, Negligent Discharge of a Firearm that Could Result in Death or Injury. Defendant was sentenced to 240 days county jail and 3 years formal probation.  The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Orland Police Department Officer Carmon and Sergeant Johnson.

PEOPLE v. VANG, KOU- Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 29800(a), Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Defendant was resentenced on his prior Sacramento County prison term in addition to this case, for a total term of 4 years and 8 months in state prison. The case was prosecuted by DDA Neumann with assistance from Fish and Wildlife Warden Beals.

PAROLE DENIED!

 PEOPLE V. FRANCISCO MEDINA:  A parole hearing was conducted today from California State Prison, Corcoran for Inmate Francisco Medina. On October 28, 1999, Inmate Medina was 18 years old when he committed the life offense of Second Degree Murder by shooting and killing 19-year-old victim, Christopher Clark in Willows, CA. Inmate Medina was 19 years old when he was sentenced to 15 years to life.  Inmate Medina was 31 years old at his first parole hearing in 2013 when parole was previously denied. Since that parole hearing, he obtained a new felony conviction in 2017, Possession of Heroin in Prison, for an additional and consecutive two year sentence from Kings County. The Parole Board denied Inmate Medina's parole for 1 year, when he will be eligible for a hearing for a third time. The parole hearing was virtually attended by Assistant District Attorney Ruby Neumann, who opposed the parole on behalf of Glenn County as well as 6 surviving family members of Mr. Christopher Clark.  Thank you to Glenn County Sheriff's Office Lt. Gibbs and Facilities/I.T. Technician Roy Medina for setting up and making the jail conference available for the Virtual Hearing.

DANIEL FALLON-  Defendant was convicted of a felony violations of Penal Code sections 243.9(a), Battery Committed by Gassing as two separate felony counts, a third felony of 243.1, Battery Against a Custodial Officer, and a Prior Strike. Defendant was previously convicted of a felony violation of 245(a)(4), Assault with Force Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury and felony 273.6(d), Disobeying a Court Order with Violence/Threat and Prior and was found in violation of probation for the 2nd time. Defendant was sentenced to 9 years 4 months state prison and probation was terminated. The case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputies Lemmon, Loudermilk, White, Draper, Sheldon, Cortez, Alves, Reynolds, Chavez, Lt. Gibbs, and Sgt. Melgarejo, and Glenn County Probation Department Officers Moize and Ortiz.

PEOPLE V. THOMAS, JAMES- Defendant was previously convicted of misdemeanor violations of Penal Code section 243(e)(1), Battery Against a Cohabitant, and Health and Safety Code section 11550(a), Being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. Defendant was found in violation of probation for the 3rd and 4th time and was sentenced to 3 years in county jail. The case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Glenn County Probation Department Officer Garcia.

PEOPLE V. STEPHEN KRAIG GREEN- Defendant was previously convicted of a felony probation violation of Penal Code section 4573.6, Bringing Drugs into jail and was found in violation of mandatory supervision for the 1st and 2nd time. Defendant was sentenced to 977 days jail and mandatory supervision was terminated. This case was prosecuted by ADA Neumann with assistance from Glenn County Probation Office Deputy Perry.

CHESNEY, JONATHAN - Defendant was convicted of felony violations of Penal Code sections 211, Second Degree Robbery of Liberty Gas Station and 211, Second Degree Robbery of AM/PM in two separate robberies committed in Orland on April 11, 2019 and May 2, 2019.  Defendant was sentenced to 4 years state prison and ordered to pay restitution of $956. This case was prosecuted by ADA Neumann with assistance from the Orland Police Department Officers Roenspie and Mills. 

PEOPLE V. GREEN, STEPHEN KRAIG - Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 4573.6(a), Bringing Methamphetamine into the Glenn County Jail and was found in violation of probation on 3 separate misdemeanor cases for violation of Penal Code section 148(a)(1), Resist Obstruct Delay a Peace Officer, and Health and Safety Code sections 11377(a), Possession of Meth and 11364(a), Possession of Drug Paraphenalia. Defendant was sentenced to 4 years prison. This case was prosecuted by ADA Neumann with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputies McIntyre, Garcia, and Ayres.

PEOPLE V. THOMAS FRED- Defendant was convicted by a jury on a felony violation of Penal Code Section 273.5(a), Corporal Injury on his Spouse. The Defendant also admitted to three violations of Penal Code Section 667.5(b) Prior Prison Commitments. This case was prosecuted by DDA Neumann with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Alves and victim witness advocate Pinedo. The sentencing will be held on January 26, 2018.
