PEOPLE V. MEDINA, ZULEMA- Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Vehicle Code section 10851(a), Vehicle Theft, and a misdemeanor violation of Vehicle Code section 23152(b), DUI with a Prior DUI. Defendant was previously convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 245(a)(1), Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and probation was terminated. Defendant was sentenced to 4 years and 8 months in state prison. The case was prosecuted by DDA Harbarger with assistance from California Highway Patrol Officer Benfer, Glenn County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Owens and Rasmussen, and Orland Police Department Officers Fullmore and Roenspie.

Defendant was previously convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 21310, Possession of a Dirk or Dagger, and Health and Safety Code section 11377(a), Possession of Methamphetamine. Defendant was sentenced to 2 years and 8 months in state prison. PEOPLE V. TYLER JAMES LOPEZ – Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 220(a)(1), Sexual Assault in Concert with Special Allegation 12022.53, Use of a Firearm, 245(a)(3), Assault with a Deadly Weapon Machinegun. Defendant was sentenced to 28 years state prison. This case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff's Office Sergeant Johnsen and Detective Lopeteguy. The Co-Defendant on this case was Anna Brown, who was sentenced to 2 life sentences plus 12 years in state prison last month.

PEOPLE V. MADDEN, KYLE- Defendant was previously convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 289(d), Sexual Penetration by Foreign Object of an Unconscious Person. Defendant was found in violation of probation for the 4th time. Defendant was sentenced to 6 years in state prison and probation was terminated. The case was prosecuted by DDA Neumann with assistance from Orland Police Department Officer Roenspie and Glenn County Probation Department Officer Van Eck.

PEOPLE v. RUVALCABA, RAFAEL- Defendant was convicted of felony violations of Penal Code section 29900(a)(1), Possession of a Firearm by a Violent Felon, and Penal Code section 273.5, Corporal Injury on the Mother of his Child. Defendant was sentenced to 3 years and 8 months in state prison. The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Gibbs and Orland Police Department Officer Mills.

PEOPLE v. HORSTMAN, ANDREW- Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 666.5(a), Automobile Theft with a Prior Auto Theft and 667.5(b), Prior Prison Term. Defendant was sentenced to mandatory supervision term of 5 years with 2 years in local prison and 3 years suspended on mandatory supervision. This case was prosecuted by DDA Neumann with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputies Alves and Sheldon.

PEOPLE V. PASSERO, PETER- Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 246.3, Negligent Discharge of a Firearm that Could Result in Death or Injury. Defendant was sentenced to 240 days county jail and 3 years formal probation.  The case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Orland Police Department Officer Carmon and Sergeant Johnson.

PEOPLE v. VANG, KOU- Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 29800(a), Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Defendant was resentenced on his prior Sacramento County prison term in addition to this case, for a total term of 4 years and 8 months in state prison. The case was prosecuted by DDA Neumann with assistance from Fish and Wildlife Warden Beals.

PEOPLE V. KENNETH MICHAEL FREDRICKSON - Defendant was convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code section 666.5(a), Automobile Theft with Prior Vehicle Thefts with a Strike Prior. Defendant was sentenced to 4 years prison. This case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputies Lemmon, Rasmussen, and Gonzalez.

PEOPLE V. DAVE RAYMOND CAMPBELL - Defendant was previously convicted of a felony violation of 273.5(a), Corporal Injury to Dating Relationship and was found in violation of probation for the 9th time. Defendant was sentenced to 3 years prison and probation was terminated. This case was prosecuted by DDA Coffey with assistance from Glenn County Probation Officer Pfyl.

PEOPLE V. TILLIS, SHAWNTRE - Defendant, age 24 from Antioch, CA, was convicted of felony violations of TWO SEPARATE COUNTS of Penal Code section 191.5(a), Gross Vehicular Manslaughter of I.G. and F.G., TWO SEPARATE COUNTS Vehicle Code section 23153(a), Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol Causing Injury, TWO SEPARATE COUNTS Vehicle Code section 23153(b), Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol over 0.08% BAC Causing Injury, and SIX SEPARATE Special Allegations in violation of Vehicle Code section 23558, Injury or Death to Multiple Victims, J.D., R.D., C.R.D., Y.S., A.G., and E.S.

This vehicle collision occurred on March 12, 2017 and took the life of 2 people and injured 5 others including great bodily injury requiring multiple surgeries including a broken neck, when Defendant chose to drink with a blood alcohol content of .14/.13%. The incident took place on Interstate-5 just north of County Road 57 with Defendant driving impaired over 117 MPH and involved 7 vehicles in the collision. The victims deceased in this case were a 2 year old little boy and his father, I.G. and F.G., who were driving back home from Disneyland. Defendant was sentenced to the maximum sentence permitted under California sentencing laws 15 years state prison. This case was prosecuted by DA Stewart with assistance from the CHP – Willows Officer Kerr, MAIT Officers Mitchell, Dalin, Hamann, and Chico Police Department Officer Consiglio, and Glenn County Health and Human Services Agency - HHSA Victim Witness Advocate Jacinto. Dwayne Stewart, District Attorney, offers his heartfelt condolences to the survivors of this collision and commends Y.S. for speaking at the sentencing on behalf of her family losing her husband and son.

PEOPLE V. WARREN, TIMOTHY- Defendant was previously convicted of felony violations of Health and Safety Code sections 11379, Sale of Methamphetamine, 11366(a), Maintaining a Place for Sale of Methamphetamine, Penal Code sections 459, Second Degree Burglary, misdemeanor 148(a)(1), Resist Obstruct Delay a Peace Officer, and found in violation of probation in 1 case. The Defendant was re-sentenced to 3 years 4 months in state prison. This case was prosecuted by DA Stewart from Glenn County Probation Department Officers Perry, Teague, Moize, and Van Eck, Orland Police Department Officer Fullmore, Glenn County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Melgarejo, and GLINTF Agents Cushman and Tharp.

Defendant was sentenced to 4 years state prison. This case was prosecuted by ADA Neumann with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff's Office Deputies Turner and Goodwin and Sergeant Owens.

MEDINA, JUAN ANTONIO- Defendant was convicted of felony violations of Health and Safety Code section 11378, Possession of Methamphetamine for Sales, Penal Code sections 12022.1, Committing a Felony while out on Felony Probation, 29800, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, 30305, Possession of Ammunition by a Felon, and 22210, Possession of a Billy Club. Defendant was sentenced to 5 years 4 months state prison. STEPHEN KRAIG GREEN- Defendant was previously convicted of a felony probation violation of Penal Code section 4573.6, Bringing Drugs into jail and was found in violation of mandatory supervision for the 1st and 2nd time. Defendant was sentenced to 977 days jail and mandatory supervision was terminated. This case was prosecuted by ADA Neumann with assistance from Glenn County Probation Office Deputy Perry.

PEOPLE V. THOMAS FRED- Defendant was convicted by a jury on a felony violation of Penal Code Section 273.5(a), Corporal Injury on his Spouse. The Defendant also admitted to three violations of Penal Code Section 667.5(b) Prior Prison Commitments. This case was prosecuted by DDA Neumann with assistance from Glenn County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Alves and victim witness advocate Pinedo. The sentencing will be held on January 26, 2018.
