Glenn County COVID-19 Data Dashboard Transition
Glenn County COVID-19 Data Dashboard Transition
Glenn County, CA – Effective October 31, 2022, Glenn County Public Health will transition the local COVID-19 Data Dashboards to align with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data systems. On October 17, 2022, Governor Gavin Newsom announced that the COVID-19 State of Emergency will end on February 28, 2023. As state and local COVID-19 response efforts shift to rely on the current infrastructure and tools in place, Glenn County Public Health will transition to CDPH’s tools for COVID-19 monitoring and prevention efforts.
Due to the widespread availability of vaccinations, tests, and treatment, the CDC and CDPH now recommend individuals and communities determine which prevention actions to take based on CDC COVID-19 Community Levels. CDC COVID-19 Community Levels are determined each week using county-level data on cases and hospitalizations. This data is analyzed to assign counties with a CDC COVID-19 Community Level of “Low”, “Medium”, or “High” to convey the impact of COVID-19 in individual communities.
Glenn County’s current COVID-19 Metrics dashboard and Case Count per Month dashboard will be replaced with weekly updates from the CDC COVID-19 Community Level and CDPH dashboards containing county-level metrics for case statistics, testing statistics, and hospitalizations. The CDPH dashboards are updated live on a weekly basis and the CDC COVID-19 Community Level will be updated every Friday. Due to differences in state and locally reported data, there will be some variations in the data reported on the CDPH Dashboards compared to Glenn County’s internally maintained dashboards when the transition occurs.
