PLEASE NOTE THAT NO INSPECTIONS WILL BE CONDUCTED FROM MONDAY, DECEMBER 25, 2023 - TUESDAY, JANUARY 2, 2024. REGULAR INSPECTION SCHEDULE WILL RESUME WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 3, 2024. Reminder that no inspections are conducted on Friday and that all inspection respects must be conducted through the inspection request line (530) 934-6447.
The newest edition of the California Building Code will become effective January 1, 2023.

Prior to submitting for a building permit, you will need to contact the Planning Department staff (planning@countyofglenn.net) in order to determine if your property is zoned for the type of project you want to do and for any fees involved. Contact the Environmental Health Department (environmental@countyofglenn.net) in order to determine if there are regulations that may affect your project and for any fees involved.
Glenn County is currently operating under the 2022 Edition of California Title 24 which consists of the 2022 California Building Code, 2022 California Administrative Code, 2022 California Electrical Code, 2022 California Mechanical Code, 2022 California Plumbing Code, 2022 California Energy Code, 2022 California Fire Code, 2022 California Elevator Safety Construction Code, 2022 California Historical Building Code, 2022 California Existing Building Code, 2022 California Reference Standards Code and the 2022 California Green Code.

Inspections are conducted Monday - Thursday. You may call the office after 9:00 AM on your requested date of inspection to determine an approximate time frame the inspection will be conducted.
SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to pick up permits and submit applications for building permits and planning projects.
Regular Business Office Hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except County holidays.

Notice of 45-day Comment Period for Proposed Building Standards to the 2016 California Plumbing Code (CPC) and the 2016 California Green Building Standards Code (CALGREEN)
The Department of Housing and Community Development is proposing the adoption of building standards in the 2016 edition of the California Plumbing Code, Part 5 and the California Green Building Standard Code (CALGreen), Part 11 of Title 24.
