Volunteers provide great service to our Office and to the community. Volunteers of all skills and abilities are needed.
Glenn County Sheriff's Office - Search and Rescue
Do you like the outdoors? Have an interest in hiking? Have strong communication skills? Want to help rescue people? Check out the Glenn County Search and Rescue Team. SAR is an all-volunteer, non-profit, non-tax supported auxiliary team of the Glenn County Sheriff's Office. Our primary purpose is to provide skilled search and technical rescue services to the residents and visitors of Glenn County, California. Due to the varied and often rugged terrain of the County, the Search and Rescue team plays a crucial role in locating and rescuing lost and endangered persons. Glenn County Sheriff's Office - Volunteers In Partnership with the Sheriff
The Glenn County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for the all new Volunteers In Partnership with the Sheriff (VIPS) volunteer program! This program was designed to have citizen volunteers aid with law enforcement tasks to further improve law enforcement services in our community. Citizens may register and become an affiliated, uniformed volunteer that is able to serve the community through a variety ways including assisting with day-to-day office and law enforcement functions, participate in local response trainings and exercises, assist with disaster response and much more. This program will include a ten week Citizen's training Academy. The 2023 Citizen's Academy starts August 26, 2023. We are now accepting volunteer applications. Please download the application below, complete, and return to the Glenn County Sheriff's Office. Additional information on the VIPS program and qualifications are included in the application. Disaster Healthcare Volunteers
Disaster Healthcare Volunteers are professionals who want to volunteer during an emergency or disaster. When you register on the secure web-based registry, you will indicate your volunteer preferences and enter information about your skills. The registry will automatically notify you in the case of a disaster and track your deployment.
North Valley Animal Disaster Group
The primary mission of the NVADG is to provide charitable assistance to the general public by working together with public and private agencies in the North Valley of California for the evacuation and sheltering of animals during a disaster. As able, the NVADG will respond to requests for mutual aid from other jurisdictions. Glenn County Sheriff's Office has a mutual aid agreement in place to utilize NVADG for animal rescue and sheltering as necessary during local emergencies and disasters.
Butte-Glenn Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD)
Butte-Glenn VOAD is a humanitarian association of independent, faith-based, and other voluntary organizations that play a response or recovery role in disasters. The organizations that belong to Butte-Glenn VOAD serve the residents in Butte and Glenn counties. If you represent a community-based or faith-based organization or government entity that has a role in disaster and would like notification of Butte-Glenn VOAD meetings and events,please contact the B-G VOAD.
